Migrating to new computer
« on: January 13, 2025, 10:55:03 AM »
Hi, I bought a new computer. Tried to bring all the data over from old computer but nothing really works. I wonder whether I have to download the program and install, buy all the voice packs again and go through all the pain I went through when I started with voice attack for elite dangerous :-\

Which steps did you take to "bring all the data over"?

VoiceAttack itself normally should run even without having been installed using an installer, as far as I'm aware.

Speech recognition training data needs to be transferred using the tool listed here under "Back up your speech engine training file". However, keep in mind that such data is specific to a given microphone, environment, and audio path (E.G. filtering). Any differences between the old and new machines could affect accuracy (generally I'd recommend redoing the training if at all possible, remembering three times is the absolute minimum).

For information on transferring third-party HCS Voice Packs products between machines, you'll want to ask them directly via their forum, or their Discord
