Unrecognised Statements.
« on: July 27, 2021, 09:43:10 AM »
Hi,

Hopefully a simple question.

When VA reports an unrecognized statement is it possible to get it to report that verbally as sometimes the interface is minimized and cannot be seen, so a verbal prompt would be very useful.

If that is possible how can I set that up, please?

Thanks,

Martin

This can be done at the profile level (meaning the active profile needs to have it enabled), by assigning a command to the "Execute a command each time a phrase is unrecognized" option.

The "{CMD}" token would then return the unrecognized phrase.

Hi,

Sorry but I am still stuck on setting up a command for "Execute a command each time a phrase is unrecognized"

You replied The "{CMD}" token would then return the unrecognized phrase.

I cannot see in the add a command menu how to build a command to use a token or some other way to output speech?

Every option is for me to do something such as "when I say" etc.

Could you please clarify this for me?

Have you read the documentation? In particular, the "Say Something with Text-To-Speech" and "Text (and Text-To-Speech) Tokens" sections?

Press F1 while VoiceAttack has focus to open VoiceAttackHelp.pdf in your default PDF viewer, which contains information on VoiceAttack's features.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. :)

No, I admit that I did not read that section as I did not know that was where to start ???

Looks complicated but I will attempt to learn and sort it out for myself... 8)

Once you have an understanding of how tokens work, and where they can be used, you'll likely find it's a lot less complicated than you might initially expect to achieve what you were describing, and more, in the future.

Having a look in the "Other >" menu is also recommended, to get an idea of what's available, at a glance.
