Multiple versions of VA showing in Volume Mixer
« on: July 31, 2019, 03:54:21 PM »
So, "johnny-come-lately" just upgraded to Win10 64 like 2 weeks ago.  :P

My PC is purely for gaming so I have minimal programs installed:  VA, PiMax PiTool, Steam VR, SimTools, Hawking Control Panel (WIFI USB Hub for my HOTAS), CoreTemp (CPU monitoring, almost always OFF) and Macrium Backup.

All of this was also on my previous Win 7 64 PC.

Ever since I installed Win 10 64 (with all the updates) VA has been running "OK", but not as snappy as with Win 7.

However, last night VA started acting up a little more than normal, so I went to the Volume Controls to see if maybe my mic or speakers had something to do with it, and I noticed no less than 8 instances of VA in the Volume Mixer.  I'm guessing that's not normal.

I usually only come here for help when I've exhausted everything I can think of, but I can't even begin to think of where to start with this one.

HELP! :)

What is your "Audio Output Type" setting on the "Audio" tab of the VoiceAttack options window set to?

Try changing it to "Integrated Components" if that's not selected already.

I think it's "Windows Media Components".

I'll try changing it when I get home.

Thanx

This seems to have solved the problem...and many others that I see posted here.

I see it has become the de facto suggestion.

VA is still a tad sluggish.  Just doesn't seem as snappy as it was in Win 7.

Nothing new from 7 to 10 for me.  EDDI plugin was running in 7 as it is now in 10.

I think it's Win 10.
