Voice Attack not responding to any type of sound in Mic
« on: July 03, 2016, 04:21:26 AM »
I have a fully registered version of VA bought it  few years ago along with Elite Dangerous and Astra-Pack when those were released, worked real well back then.

i recently bought a new PC, and installed VA today but its just not picking up any sounds what so ever.

TS, Skype, Speech recognition all work fine, can even dictate whole pages with speech, but VA doesnt pick up a single piece of sound, not even getting errors or the sorts.

I've already run true all options here none worked, and googled more on the subject but nothing seems to change, and frankly getting kinda pissed off about it not working.

Using the onboard sound of my Asus Maximus VIII Hero Motherboard.

Have you gone through these threads:

and
http://voiceattack.com/SMF/index.php?topic=64.0
?
Also, have you tried the beta that may possibly warn when somebody has installed things like SonicStudio?

I noticed you have an Asus motherboard.

Do you have Sonic Studio installed?

The Windows speech engine uses the default recording channel to do its thing.  Sonic Studio is somehow interfering with that at some level.  I'm not convinced that making assumptions like that are good software practices, as you can see what it does.  The VoiceAttack beta should warn if Sonic Studio is installed, but since I don't have that software to test, it's kind of a shot in the dark at the moment.  Did you use the beta at all?
