i thought i could live with this bug but now is just very very fustrating. am using push to listen! a lot of time VC doesnt even dectect the mic until i either bash the push to listen button multiple times! bare in mind it should still show mic active levels even if am push to listen is down and its as if it just goes to sleep and stops dectecting mic input. The other thing i have had to do is set a button that also set the recording device most of the time when i press that and it sets the recording device it seems to work and starts detecting mic input!

its very very fustracting at first i thought i had to delete the previous speech profile but i have done this multiple times and train multiple profiles its still happens no matter what.

Once again i will clarify. am using voice attack with push to listen and frequently now i see its not showing any mic input with or with out the push to listen button down! its been happening for the last 8 updates or so.and i have to either bash the push to listen button down multiple times to get it to show mic input or i have to use a command that sets the recording device!

Are you using a wireless headset?

Push to listen(or turning of listening otherwise) in VoiceAttack's context should not affect the microphone itself, as it leaves the speech recognition engine running and will still recognize commands, it'll just ignore them.

When the microphone bar stops moving in VoiceAttack, does it still move in the Windows Sound Settings?

Hi, Axon - looks like you're experiencing some type of weird behavior that I'm not familiar with.  I'm going to just throw my thoughts out there to see if anything sticks:

When you press the push to listen button, are you hearing the sound that VA makes when you do this?

If not, there could be something interfering with your keyboard hook - make sure that there's not some other software that is using global hotkeys and interfering with VA's global hotkeys.

If you are hearing the sound, VA is successfully disabling/enabling, 'listening'.  VA does NOT turn off or turn on your mic when listening is disabled/enabled.  It is a very simple flag that indicates whether or not to execute a command when a speech event occurs (that way you can have a spoken command for, 'start listening').

In Options > System/Advanced, do you have, 'Enable sleep mode' checked?  If so, try unchecking that box.

Do you think it has anything to do with this issue you were having before?  https://forum.voiceattack.com/smf/index.php?topic=2224.msg10340#msg10340

yes i am using the logitech g933 at first i though it was that but no. the people on my discord could still hear me. not only that but the other day i was streaming assetto corsa on facebook and it happened obs picked up the mic as expected but not voice attack. the microphone bar keeps moving. also i use voice banana as well and it moves there too.

[] indeed i hear the sound prompt that its listening  and sometimes there is  no sound its all over the place.

[] as for some thing interfering with the keyboard very very unlikely coz not only do i use the keyboard to push to listen i also use my mouse and the buttons on the headset.

[] i understand that my friend but thing is at times there isnt even any mic input dictated until i either bash the push to listen button or i run the set recording device

Code: [Select]
Change recording device to: 'Microphone (3- Logitech G933 Gaming Headset)'

Have you tried a different headset to see if that makes any difference?  If not, you may want to do so so that can be ruled out.  This is going to take a lot of trial and error to figure out what it is exactly that is going on with your setup.
