VoiceAttack crash when used with Discord

Steps I took:
1) Clean install latest version of VA from Steam.
2) Enabled plugin (VAICOM) and restarted voice attack.
3) Set Joystick's PTT button
4) Everything works fine to this point (in game).
5) Switched on Discord (Discord PTT using another set of keys)
6) VA crashed suddenly without warning
7) Switched on VA back and the popup came out about disabling things.
Disabled plugin and restarted VA, still crash
9) Without disabling plugin, while Discord is still on, disabled joysticks
10) Restarted and no crash
11) Restarted again to enable joystick. Pressed the assign joystick button and error came out 'joystick can't be assigned'


Any advice?
