Exporting ..VA Html
« on: August 03, 2017, 08:55:37 AM »
I'm trying to remember commands , in game.

Can we have exporting VA Profiles by categories,  as in how it shows within VA now with the '+categories ' , you click one and just export that to read.

Any improvement on Exporting Commands and the categories,  in a format so you can print , or view on 2nd screen like an Android,  would be great.

VA Profiles exporting the way VA does it now is a bit messy

thanks Gary :)

What specifically are you envisioning?

You can already export only certain commands to HTML, or you can sort by category, shift select the items within that category, and press spacebar to mark for export.

Shift select space bar ..? eeh! Had no-idea about space bar and such..

Can the export be simple,  I click on or highlight each category and export.
I have over 2000 commands , sorting though each one is painful , so there in categories..

Just wish to export only those categories I want NOT the entire lot , and image of the HTML page as it is now . as you can see the Command is to the left , the categories is very far over to the right , formatting the page for export is not possible at the movement

The exporting needs to be setup , so when reading , I can scroll on my table via the categories to find the Command
( the phase Ive forgotten) for that end the categories should be to the far left and the Command too its right.

Ah, yes.  It needs to be limited on the amount of info that can be put in one cell.  It was designed long before we started making, 'natural-language' commands.  I can make it to where the column order follows the UI.

You can also in the "Export profile" window, choose to sort via category, which can make it a LOT easier for the quick formatting of the commands to be sorted by command, category, description, action, keypress etc etc etc.

I use this all the time when I export for the HTML cheat sheets. I sort by name first of all (because there are commands that I *don't* want to export, the non spoken ones), and then once I have selected the commands that I want, I then sort by category.

And I end up with a html page, where sorted by category first, and then by name as a 2ndary order.

Of course doing that already, but  still not able to get Categories to the left and commands to the right but Gary is on to it
I find the whole exporting column thing poorly translates to a print or web browsers view
