How to indicate an order with the sign ";"
« on: March 31, 2022, 11:48:27 AM »
Hello,
A question probably simple, but to which I did not find the answer in help ...
I am looking to create a command to write / tap a semicolon.
If I say "Virgule", VoiceAttack tells me that it does not know the command sign ";" ...
And if I want to create a voice command with just the punctuation sign ";"It does not work because it is a field separator / variable in principle.
Is there a way that VoiceAttack accepts the ";"as a voice command.I tried in single or double quotation marks, but it does not work.
Thank you in advance for your answer and solution.
Best regards.
Edgar

Have you tried creating a command triggered by the phrase "Virgule"?

Using the US English SAPI speech recognition engine, speaking "semicolon" is recognized as ";" by default, but if a command with the phrase "semicolon" is available, that will be recognized instead.

Hello Pfeil,

I was wrong in my statement.

I wanted to create a command started by "Point Virgule", but I think the problem is the same for both signs of punctuation.
If I understand correctly, it comes from the SAPI engine that includes necessarily ";"As a punctuation when it says "Point Virgule".

Suddenly, to get around that I created a "semicolon" (in english) command and added that to my personalized vocal dictionary, my French recognition engine does not recognize it as a punctuation, and it's good in VoiceAttack.

It may be a little trick of handyman, but it works, it's essential for me.

Thank you for your help and your time.

Best regards.
