Open a Windows 10 Universal App such as Netflix or Hulu

This might be really easy but I'm not understanding how to do it.
How do you get Voice Attack to open Universal Apps such as Netflix and Hulu in Windows 10 Pro?

According to this MSDN article, you can run "start netflix:"(notice the colon).

On the other hand, Hulu supposedly isn't that easy to launch.


I don't have a machine with Windows 10, nor Netflix or Hulu, so that's all I can provide.

Good point. There are two ways to do this, both use the "Run an Application" action:

Run application 'cmd.exe' -with parameters '/c start netflix:'

or, you can follow this guide, and rather than creating a shortcut, paste the parameters into the "with these parameters" textbox, E.G.

Run application 'exporer.exe' -with parameters 'shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.WindowsReadingList_8wekyb3d8bbwe!Microsoft.WindowsReadingList'

I have tried it, though not on my main machine. The UI is poor, the main focus is to perpetually sell and advertise to the customer(losing any semblance of privacy in the process), apps reinstall themselves, and you can't officially disable updates to prevent half-baked "fixes" from messing up a working system. Some of this can be worked around with great effort, but no thanks.

That said, I'll probably be forced to "upgrade" when I change hardware, but the free offer doesn't carry over anyways, so I'm anything but keen on taking it.

I can confirm that method 1 works and I'm currently using it to open Netflix.
