I love Voice Attack, but I just can't seem to get it to work consistently. I simply cannot get it to accurately translate what I say to commands. Let me preface this post by saying that I speak English. I have no accent. No speech impediment. I am running Windows 10 Home. I have a Razer Electra V2 USB headset. I have set up the mic through Windows and through the Razer Synapse interface. I have run the speech tutorials more than once, with no problems. I have recorded and listened to my voice, and can hear no noise or other interference, and the commands sound clear and not over-modulated. I run Discord and the Simple Radio Standalone system, and have no problems talking clearly with others.
I originally tried to set up VA to focus on my snap views (
https://youtu.be/16IFMr8K7Gs), and it works fairly well, although sometimes it misses a word. Reason I say this is because the commands are simple one-word. Hud, Radios, TGP, etc. But it is still too "iffy" - many times it gets those simple words wrong.
I then tried to use Bailey's profile (
https://youtu.be/7XzxYorM3EA) to set the freqs on my radios and load various data carts, and now it's getting impossible to make VA understand almost anything. First problem: VA isn't understanding the two-word commands like "set frequency" or "tune frequency". Then, since the profile calls for the freq to be 5 digits, the command has to be like "set frequency 25500." I have gone so far as to add all digits 0-9 to the VA dictionary along with the words "set', "tune" and "frequency" in my voice, and yet I get garbage when I say the command. It usually drops at least the last digit (or more), and the words "tune" and "set" are sometimes interpreted wrong. Yet I watch the Bailey video, and he seems to be speaking normally and clearly, and everything works.
My theory now seems to be my unique problem in setting up my microphone. Although my voice seems to record cleanly, VA isn't understanding it as such. SO - is there anyone out there who has a tried-and-true way of setting up the microphone in Win 10, or anyone who has the Electra VA headset and has set it up. I know this can't be that hard, and I'm getting frustrated because I just can't seem to make it work cleanly. What's the secret, guys?
