I'm building a sci-fi cockpit with way too many* buttons that trigger real things in-game (Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, Mech Warrior 5, etc) but want to make the on-boarding process for brand new players trying to learn what each button does as intuitive as possible. With this goal in mind, I'm searching for a way for VoiceAttack to automatically light up the appropriate button when VoiceAttack has triggered that button. (Goal #1)
(Stretch Goal #2) Even better would be the ability for a new player to say for example, "how do I fire missiles?" and then a combination of VoiceAttack + HCS Voicepacks (and/or even some AI voice program for maximum flexibility) responds with something along the lines of, "Press flashing button" but wouldn't trigger the button until the player pressed it themselves.
I would prefer that the button lighting system worked independent yet in conjunction with a given game so that it could be applied to as many games as possible.
I'm willing to work with a Arduino or something like a Brook Universal Fighting Board (UFB) and do my own button wiring/lighting, if no readymade solution is out there.
Looking for recommendations on how best to connect the various hardware components together to pull this off. Thanks!
