Unable to hear V/A speech while in games
« on: January 28, 2017, 12:10:55 PM »
When I'm in iRacing I have V/A setup to use V/A's wave files to reply back to me of some commands I've setup such as Add Full Tank of Fuel, it replies back with the V/A wave file but I can barely hear it while on track.  I've got V/A's sound turned all the way up and in iRacing I've got the car engine sound most of the way down but am still not able to hear the reponses.  I also have the same issue in Dirt Rally.  Other people that I know that use V/A have the same issue, is there anyway to fix this?

I've seen games that, rather than using internal volume, manipulate the system volume, which will affect other applications(including VoiceAttack). Does iRacing do this, to your knowledge?

If it does, you should be able to hear the difference when, for example, playing music or a youtube video in the background, as the volume will lower once your start the game.

If you're looking to further boost the volume, you could use Audacity to amplify the individual sound files(up to a point).
