Something up with this site's time stamps on posts?
« on: May 16, 2016, 05:29:48 PM »
Hey just found it weird that I posted something recently on here and it said I posted it at 6:30 am and it's 7:26 pm for me.

Not sure if its any importance to anyone, just pointing it out if it needs to be fixed or if its like a server time there is different then mine.

idk. ^_^

Click on the 'Profile' button on the top bar up there.

Hover over, 'Modify Profile', then click on the, 'Look and layout' item.

There is a Time Offset option.  Click on the, 'auto detect' button and that *should* do it.  If not, you can manually put in the offset to whatever it is to match your local time.

Click, 'Change profile' at the bottom.

At least I wasn't the only one. I know why I totally missed that. I never hovered over the autodetect to see that it was a link I had to click, I thought that the () meant that it would autodetect somehow. I guess I saw the zero in there and made some assumption that meant automatic unless I changed it. The forum pages also don't have anything anywhere to denote what format the time shown is in (i.e. based on UTC), so I guess that added to my assumption that it knew.

Anyway, my mistake, it works now.

Had exactly the same issue. I'd argue it's poor interface design, should have been a button(Which is on the SMF devs, not Gary of course).

I agree...  the interface is kind of funky.  You'd think it would just autodetect by default when you register and then let you adjust if it's not right.

Not a mistake... it's just weird AND it's buried down in a place you don't expect it to be.
