Prepar3D V5 out of available memory
« on: May 30, 2024, 08:20:24 PM »
After installing VoiceAttack, Prepar3D V5 will not start and reports it has run out of available memory. P3Dv6, X-plane 12 etc run without this issue.
I have 48GB of main memory, 12GB of GPU dedicated memory with also 16GB of shared GPU memory. Task manager does not show any memory issue. I am using Windows 11.
I have vastly increased the paging memory size but the problem persists.
I can run P3Dv5 fine when VoiceAttack is not loaded.
Any suggestions?

Are you running any plugins for VoiceAttack? If so, does the issue still occur after you disable the "Enable Plugin Support" on the "General" tab of the VoiceAttack options window and restart VoiceAttack?

If so (or you're not running plugins), does the issue still occur after enabling (checking the box for) the "Disable Speech Recognition" option on the "Recognition" tab of the VoiceAttack options window and restarting VoiceAttack?

I have found a work-around. I was calling P3Dv5 using VA. If I call it directly from Windows it all works fine.
