recognizing letters
« on: October 03, 2023, 01:53:33 AM »
Trying to streamline some data entry for airport codes, we have existing commands like 0..10 where it will listen for any numbers between the two.

Is there any way to have an equivalent of a..z or alpha..zulu?

No, you'd have to list them out.  On that note, it can sometimes be difficult for the speech engine to recognize single letters, so a NATO phonetic alphabet system might be a smart way to do it (at least as an option if things to sideways).

Only numbers have the short notation for a number range.

Yeah that was what I was afraid of.  I did not want to bloat a single command for it to just remember the 4 letter airfield I was at so it would paste it in the next time I play.

Adding alpha characters would have been at the expense of not being inclusive -  I only added ranged numbers, as they're standard across languages.  I could look at adding something for English initially - then move out from there.

Thoughts?
