Star Wars Squadrons, magic settings?

I have been working on a profile for Star Wars Squadrons, but, I cannot get SWS to recognize spoken commands.  I have made sure the keyboard commands are working correctly, I have made sure that the commands in VA match the keyboard commands, and I have made sure VA recognizes the commands when I speak, all to no avail.  Is there something basic I am overlooking to get SWS to work with VA?  This is getting extremely frustrating.
