Tone Bursts, or Combinations
« on: July 20, 2020, 07:21:58 PM »
Quite often voice feedback takes too long. I would like to be able to generate tones without external sound files. For example, 250Hz for 0.1 sec, pause 0.05 sec, 400Hz for 0.1 sec at the start of a command. Perhaps play in reverse at the end of the command. When things are happening fast, then this would be far more useful than anyone might imagine. One could also use two tones mixed, e.g., to create the same tones as a touch tone dialer for a telephone. These tones begin to be recognized and familiar over time.

Interesting idea.  I'll add it to the suggestion list and see if there is a growing interest in a feature like that.

In the meantime, this kind of functionality can be done within an inline function (or plugin) if anybody wants to pick the reins up on that.  I was able to cobble together one in about five minutes just by searching the web (attached).
