going to a url in a new tab
« on: April 19, 2020, 11:21:37 PM »
Hello. I am new so don't flame me please. I have tried googling and searching for this answer with no joy. I know how to open a new tab in Chrome (using VA) and I know how to change focus to the address bar. But I want to say "Facebook" and the address bar gets filled in with the url I have pre-selected....so maybe saying "facebook" fills in a url of  'www.facebook.com/myname'   I am unsure how to do this though I would imagine it is pretty straight forward.
Thank you in advance for your help!

You can use the "Quick Input" action to type text, or you can use the "Set a Text Value to the Windows Clipboard" action followed by a keypress action that presses Ctrl-V to paste text (noting that it does overwrite the previous contents of your clipboard).

Depending on your browser settings, another option is to use the "Run an Application" action with the URL you want to use directly (if Chrome is your default browser), or to put the URL in the "With these parameters" field, and launching the Chrome executable.
