Use variable hotkey (Advanced) using UP Arrow Key?

For some reason I can't get this to work.

I'd like to set up a Variable Hotkey with the variable >>FPS_FWD set to the UP arrow key.
I've defined the text variable with either [UP] or simply UP and neither work to kick off the command where the Variable Hotkey is set up.

I guess I'm missing something simple here.  Could someone bonk me over the head with the answer?
