Va giving error box when going to options

After I start voiceattack, if I hit the wrench to go to the options I get  "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application..." and options to quit or continue. The details shows the error below. If I continue, things seem ok.

Is this normal?

Actually, no, that's not normal.  I see a lot of plugin-referenced dll's in there, so although the plugins *shouldn't* affect the options screen, could you try something for me?  When you launch VA, hold down CTRL + Shift and select the option to reset the settings which will disable plugins and see if that helps.

I still get the error.

Not sure if it's relevant but:
1. I usually can't quit out of voiceattack and restart - the first start leaves a process running that prevents a new instance from starting unless I go into task manager and kill the process.
2. I am running it in admin mode, set from the shortcut compatibility settings (but my ID is admin anyway)
3. If I go through, disable the plug in support myself, quit, and restart and go to options, I still get the error.

I'm thinking something is borked up in your audio configuration.  What version of Windows are you using?  Also, was this working before?

I would start with doing a system scan:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files

In the meantime, I'll take a look to see if there's a place where handling can be done around that section... normally, that just works if all internal components are up to code.

 First off, thank you for the fast response.

Second: this is a windows 10 64 bit system.

Third:  for all I know, the audio configuration might be confused. Everything seems to work largely normally for me. This is my first time with voice attack as I just bought it so I can't really say if it worked before. I can get to the option screen if I continue when the error box comes up.

The system scan tool revealed no issues.

The version you posted seems to work fine and I don't get the error dialog.

The process not terminating after exit still seems to happen but I haven't spent a lot of time looking at that part.

The process not terminating is due to the journal plugin that you are using.  There is a bug in it that is preventing VA from closing.  I'm working on a solution to keep plugins from doing that to begin with
