When using VA keyboard keys disapear and/or relocate

when using voice attack my keyboard end up missing keys altogether and then relocating others. as soon as i exit voice attack my keys return to normal

for example not using voice attack:

qwertyuiop[]\
asdfghjkl;'
zxcvbnm,./

when using voice attack:

`5b7890-=
qwerwyuiop[]\
asdfg..,o'
z0nvbns,.0


all keys are correctly bound in the profile and in the settings of elite dangerous. using win 10 and current release of voice attack.
this is making it very hard for this program to be useable please help.
