Can't Adjust VA Volume in Windows Volume Mixer
« on: February 09, 2025, 03:16:00 PM »
I've noticed this weird situation for a while, but haven't given it too much attention, as I'm able to at least hear some low audio coming from VA.

However, lately it's become more important to hear louder volume audio coming from VA.

However, in my Windows 11 Volume Mixer:  System > Sound > Volume Mixer
Voice attack's state volume slider only stays at 1% and I can't increase the volume with this slider at all.

I provide attachments of the Volume Mixer and VA's Audio Options screen.

Could you help me clear this so I can increase the volume of Voice Attack?

Thanks!

Not being able to adjust the volume is a known issue with the Windows volume mixer in the Settings app.

You can access the old volume mixer, which should work correctly, by opening the Windows Start menu, and typing in
Code: [Select]
sndvolthen pressing Enter.

Note that you might need to click and drag the right-hand side of the window to expand it so all applications are shown (there is no scrollbar, even if some are beyond the edge of the window)

If VoiceAttack isn't visible in that mixer (even after expanding the window), have VoiceAttack play a sound and it should appear.

Yeah, that worked.  Thanks.

Is there any bug-fix in the works, or anything that can be done on VA's side?

Not as far as is currently known, no. There's no real logical explanation for the behavior of the volume mixer as of yet.

Roger.

As a work-around, I've made it so when my VoiceAttack starts up in it's base profile, I've done a 'Set Application [VoiceAttack.exe] audio volume to [85]' command.
