Profile transfer
« on: April 19, 2021, 10:22:54 AM »
Can anyone tell me. I just switched computers. Instead of going through the setup process all over again can I transfer the voice attack profile from the old computer to the new one.

That depends on what you're referring to, specifically.

You can copy over the entire profile database file, "VoiceAttack.dat", normally located under "C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\VoiceAttack", which will include any VoiceAttack profiles you had created or imported.

However, this does not contain any third-party plugins or additional files. If you're using third-party addons (E.G. from HCS Voice Packs), you'll want to ask the author about their migration procedure.

HCS Voice Packs can be contacted via their forum, or their Discord

If you're referring instead to your trained speech recognition profile, you could try the tool linked in the "Back up your speech engine training file" section of the TIPS & HOW-TO page

Thanks for you reply. I noticed that there is a export profile  in the voice attack menu. Can I not export the profile that way and then in the new computer use the import function to import the profile?

If you're only looking to transfer a single VoiceAttack profile, yes. However, this does not include any variables saved to the profile, or any other information not part of the profile itself.

Ok thankyou. It is just a basic profile. Just some commands for certain buttons to be pushed. Nothing special.

Are you using any third-party plugins? VAICOM PRO in particular has been reported to exhibit this behavior.

For issues with third-party addons, you'll want to contact the author.

For VAICOM PRO, their support page lists a thread on the Eagle Dynamics forums, and an email address.

There is an unofficial, community-run Discord as well, which may be able to assist with certain issues.
