option or variable for disabling admin privileges?
« on: December 16, 2022, 12:22:12 AM »
So I usually tend to run VA with elevated privileges, to avoid any issues with certain games or other problems. However, there are a lot of applications, sometimes certain commands etc.. that I would rather launch without admin privileges. Some apps even give errors/warnings when you attempt to launch them as admin. Is there a command line argument, or perhaps even better a variable that I could toggle to disable admin rights for a specific program/voice command?

Unfortunately, no - admin mode affects the entire app and how the app interacts with other applications (this is not VoiceAttack-specific).

What I would do here is assess what applications are run with administrative privileges, and then figure out why they are running at that level.  From there, I would try to make the applications run in a lower context.

Running VA as an administrator should really be a last resort kind of thing.
