no sound on Fullscreen
« on: December 16, 2021, 11:41:26 PM »
Hi when I use voice attack in Fullscreen in iracing it doesnt speak bact to me.  In windows mode it works normally. Commands are recognized in Fullscreen but audio does not come out or sometimes it speaks with 30sec delay.

Are you using a third-party profile and/or plugin?

Would this be using text-to-speech, or prerecorded sound files?

If you create a new profile, then create a single command containing a "Say Something with Text-To-Speech" action, save the command using "OK", save the profile using "Done", then execute that command while the game is fullscreen, does the same issue seem to occur?

If it does, and you change the "Voice" option of that action to use a voice that comes with Windows, E.G. "Microsoft Zira Desktop", does the issue still occur then?

Does the issue still occur when you disable plugin support?

Click the wrench icon on VoiceAttack's main window, and on the "General" tab of the VoiceAttack options window uncheck the "Enable Plugin Support" option, click "OK", click "OK", then restart VoiceAttack, and try the new command again

If you add a "Play a Sound" action to that command (you can select one of the internal sounds using the dropdown, if you don't have a file to hand), is that audible when you execute the command?

Just in case, and assuming you have an NVIDIA graphics card, try this (from https://errorfixer.co/no-audio-fullscreen-games-windows-10/; no idea if the site itself is trustworthy so I'll repost the instructions here):

Right-click your Desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel.

On the main window, use the left side navigation to go to the Display > Set up digital audio section.

On the Set up digital audio view, select Turn off audio from the drop-down menu for either HDMI or DVI (depends on the port you are using to connect your monitor).

Click on Apply button on the lower-right of the Nvidia control panel.

So it was the Realtek sound card driver? First time that's even been reported, as far as I'm aware. Good to know.
