Voiceattack Crashes when using Toggle or Press / Release
« on: January 25, 2022, 05:18:20 AM »
Latest version of Voiceattack.
Being run in elevated priv(Admin)

I had two commands previously that worked within the game Star Citizen

The first command held down Right Alt + ;
The second command releases the above  Right Alt + ;

The first command works, however the second command when initiated crashes Voiceattack.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks much!

Ok.  Looks like I solved this:

I had to change my OPTIONS > AUDIO > AUDIO OUTPUT TYPE  from  Windows Media Components  to  Integrate Components.

This, as I had a a 'Play Sound'  Internal:Squeepatpat  command line within the command itself.

As mentioned in the documentation, "Internal:" sounds require "Integrated Components", which is the default setting on most installations (for a few years now).
In fact, when "Integrated Components" is not selected, the dropdown to select "Internal:" sounds should not appear at all.

"Windows Media Components" is a legacy fallback option that should not be used unless strictly necessary (it also has issues with the volume mixer, for example, which is not specific to VoiceAttack).

That said, it's certainly not supposed to crash. I'll pass that along.
