VA runs all the time, and after a bit of time, this is what my Volume mixer looks like, note the slider at the bottom and how many instances are opened: 

Not sure what to do next with it.  Thought that it was maybe creating a new one on every voice response, but am not seeing any behaviors

There is an issue with Windows Media Components possibly not releasing handles.  You'll want to switch to, 'Integrated Components' as your audio output type.  This  option is located in Options > Audio.

All good, will change that and report back.. just freaked me out because I started to count and had at least 60 before I gave up, and the way the slider moved, it will likely somewhere 2-300 open
