VA on ARM devices
« on: January 30, 2020, 03:38:13 AM »
I have a project that I want to use Voice Attack with. I want to use the new Raspberry PI 4 (quad-core 1.5GHz ARM v8) but I'm not sold on this platform just yet.

While I know the R-Pi4 will run Windows IOT without issue, supporting the latest .Net frameworks, will Voice Attack run in this environment?

I am a MS MSDN subscriber so have access to W10IOT Enterprise latest version.

The VA Help Section (https://voiceattack.com/VoiceAttackHelp.pdf) roughly covers operational environments but is still pretty vague.

TIA

Short answer: No.

Longer answer (partially already given in a previous topic on the matter):

Windows 10 IOT Core running on ARM platform cannot natively run x86 applications (they are completely different architectures).

Windows 10 IOT Core does not have WinForms support, which VoiceAttack (and most other Windows applications) require.

Windows 10 IOT Enterprise cannot run on ARM platforms (like the Raspberry Pi).
