I have a PNP fifine mic with a mute button. I have been noticing that VA is picking up sounds from other programs running in the background. Where it is most noticeable is when I am playing music through my firefox browser.
I have tried muting the mic, unplugging it and had VA in stop listening mode, nothing changes what it is receiving.
I have done a SFC scannow and there is nothing wrong there are no other mic attached to my system.
any suggestion as to what might be going on or what I could check?

You have line noise in your system.  You'll want to take a look at this thread:

Look at the section, "I'm not saying anything but VoiceAttack keeps hearing things".

Hope that helps!

I had this, baffled the hell out of me until I realised it was picking up the mic from my Rift on the other side of the room :)
The Singularity profile - One profile to rule them all and at HCS we bound them ;)

You see, TheThingIs, eventually you'll be allright.
