Voice Attack Audio output
« on: May 23, 2019, 07:15:39 AM »
Hey :)

I was messing about last night, and had the audio coming from both my Oculus Rift and PC speakers when playing Elite Dangerous.
But try as I might, I couldn't get the audio from VA to only play in the HMD.

Is it possible to only have the audio output from VA (HCS Voicepacks) to play on the headset?
Or is it down to Windows or the Oculus software?
It's nice sometimes having the PC speakers play the audio from Elite Dangerous as well as the headphones on my Rift, but not-so good when the audio output from VA also plays on both. Leads to no-end of issues :)

Thanks.

You should be able to use the "Override Default Playback Device" and "Override Default Text-To-Speech Device" options on the "Audio" tab of the options window to play VoiceAttack sounds on a specific device.

Do make sure you don't have the Oculus option to mirror headset audio to the desktop turned on (It's in the Dash options somewhere; Should be off by default though).

Cheers.
I did have Mirror audio in Oculus ticked to get the game audio playing on the HMD and PC speakers.
Unfortunately it appears to mirror non VR audio too.
I did play with the options you mentioned last night, but didn't appear to make a difference.
It appears the Oculus Mirror audio is to blame.
Thanks.
