« on: July 10, 2016, 12:08:00 PM »
Hi, I am getting the message unexpected error while checking how many days left in time limited trial
I downloaded yesterday and it said I have 21 days.
Any ideas, I have inet connection etc.
I know its only $10 but I want to have a look before I buy it.

Thanks in advance for any advice
Dave

Hi, Dave.  Recently, I changed the trial date-check code to fix an issue with a handful of people that were getting an error when changing locales while using VoiceAttack.  I need to know a couple things, if I may.   First, did you happen to change your locale?  Second, did you alter your system clock at all while using VoiceAttack (it's cool if you did, as it will help me figure out what's going on).

This seems to be occurring for more than one person.  I am going to make some hard adjustments to the trial and probably remove the time constraint completely, as FORCING a date format does not seem to solve the problem in certain cases and leaving it the old way causes issues when people change locales.  Hoping to have that out this week.

just saw something about changing languages on another thread, I wouldn't know how to do that (win7) but I was mapping keys earlier that included shift or lert/right ctrl with numbers so its possible i supose

Same error message coming up.  Win10 used, I saved trial to D: as opposed to C: default.  Should have also said downloaded on 9th and had error message pop up yesterday/today.

This is a known issue, introduced in the latest release.  A solution is being worked on.  Although no ETA, there will be something out soon.

Sorry about that!

I have released a beta version of VoiceAttack that should solve your problem.  This version is the same as the one that was released the other day, just without the time constraint.

The beta can be downloaded here:  http://www.voiceattack.com/beta
