Unwanted Cmds
« on: August 02, 2017, 02:07:42 PM »
Apologies if this has been asked before,I did try to search the forum first. Recently I'm having  issue with Astra any my other voices replying to cmds which I have not issued, such as reverse thrusters, acknowledged, lights on / off, affirmative etc. This is also happening to a friend of mine. I've asked the same question in the HCS forum, but had no results apart from suggesting to ask in here. I use the voice packs, very rarely use my keypad as I have my keyboard mode off, I also use a head set. I have tried different settings within the recognition page of VA but still no change. So currently I have stopped using VA.  :-[ :-[

Can someone please advise

PS. I have Ver 1.6.7 of VA

Are you using a microphone that picks up environmental noise? Are you using speakers?

I have tried different settings within the recognition page of VA but still no change.
The main setting that should help you is "Minimum Confidence Level". Check the "Show Confidence Level" box, and have a look at the log when commands are recognized erroneously.

You can set the confidence level for those commands individually using the "Minimum confidence level" checkbox and numericupdown control in the "Edit a Command" window.
If you set the confidence level to be higher than what the log indicates, the commands should be rejected and not executed if the speech engine isn't quite sure what it's hearing.

May want to buzz through this thread to see if there is something that can be gleaned from it:

Hi Guys, thanks very much for the help, Gary will look at the link and have a read. As for my drivers I have updated them recently, my headset is a Creative  Tactic 3d  Rage Wireless. My problem has only just started, well about 2 weeks ago, before then it was just the odd in wanted  cmd which was fine, but as I mentioned when Astra put my engines into revers  thrust whilst docking I almost lost my Beluga at a cost of 8.5 mill and that is what broke the camels back ,I'd had enough at that point.  But I'm always willing to try out any solution rather than not use VA or any of my voices. I've just added a snapshot of my issue's not sure if it helps any.  Also my setting are;

 Min Confidence 30
 Cmd Weight 50

 :( :(

Drop the command weight whilst increasing the confidence level.

If you have VA listening all the time, then Low command weight, high confidence level is recommended
If you have VA on PTT, then high command weight low confidence level.

Values vary according for each person/setup as there is no perfect value for everyone. I personally have 30 confidence, 60 command weight, but because of my setup, I very rarely get "false triggers".

Hi,
I've now put my mic onto PTT and altered the cmd & confidence levels, I'll try this and see how things go.

Thank You
