Voice attack no longer properly functions with gamepad for the past few months;/

I have always used Voice Attack with Final Fantasy 14 online and other games to make my skill rotations all be on a single button press

when I have everything set to a key or mouse press the program works fine

but when I have it set to send commands based off my gamepad presses it now only works as long as voice attack is the focus window

and will not send commands to anything, not even notepad

In fact voice attack does not even register that im pressing anything its self when its not the focus window with gamepad

i have no hooks installed anywhere, nothing that should be blocking it, yet it does not work, everything is set properly and as for directx input mode you all talk about It does not exist as far as i can tell in any menu anywhere

yes gamepad is enabled, yes windows 10 is up to date, no i dont have any hooks overwriting anything as stated it works fine with mouse and kb but gamepad does jack squat  i am injured irl due to lupus so gamepad is pretty much my only option

What kind of gamepad is it?  Is it an XBox One controller?

yes it is an xbox one controller

There is an issue with the XBox One controller, and it affects more than just VoiceAttack.  You will want to look at this thread to see if there is anything in there that may help:
