Speech recognition freezes on windows lock
« on: March 07, 2017, 04:56:26 PM »
I often lock my computer (windows+L). Upon returning from an extended absence, Voice Attack voice recognition seems to be frozen: the gray bar audio indicator at the bottom is stuck at a certain level and does not move, and does not recognize commands.

after restarting VA, everything works fine.

it's not happening every time i lock and log back into windows. but it does happen rather frequently.

If you are willing to try an, 'unofficial' build, would you give the one that is out there now a whirl?

Just replace your current VoiceAttack.exe with that one.

I popped in an additional handler for Windows unlock that works just like resuming standby.  Hoping it might help you.

Since then, VoiceAttack has gone full release: http://www.voiceattack.com/download   However, that build is probably not much different than the one you have.

What version of Windows are you running?  Also, what is the exact message you are receiving?
