Search for Windows Process
« on: January 26, 2017, 10:05:17 AM »
Is there a way to have VoiceAttack search through the list of active processes as shown on the "Processes" tab of the task manager (looking at Windows 7)? I ask because this might lead to a way to check to see if a particular process exists/is running regardless of the state of the process's window (min, max, hidden, etc).

Thanks!

If you search the VA help doc for, 'Task Manager', you can see the various places that VA can search for process names.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the feedback Gary.

As you may have already guessed I'm grasping at straws trying to figure out how to make VA recognize that it is running even when it is allowed to "minimize to tray" so that I can get it to unhide from the tray with commands.

So far I can get VA to minimize, but not maximize (or normalize) without forcing mouse movement and clicks in the system tray.

Any thoughts?

I'd have to code dive on it but my guess would be that VA doesn't focus on VA.
