Error by cat

I've been in IT for years and this is the kind of bug that is frustrating because it's not really obvious...

I am using the beta, and it's been running VERY well. Today I started as usual, the popup saying I am running in Admin mode. BUT this time the cat ran across the keyboard and click the 'Click to show when this notification appears' and move the slider... I moved it back. BUT the effect appears to have damaged my install ... 

Now, firstly, where are the profiles actually kept so I can make a backup of them again?

Well, I know exactly WHEN I NOTICED it happened...

Although, if we BOTH are getting it that would mean my cat REALLY hates VA or there was a very big update to Windows 10 yesterday that changed VA settings somehow.

I had NOT played after the Windows update.

"%AppData%/VoiceAttack/" should contain the "VoiceAttack.dat" file which stores all the profiles in one database.

Ok, I tried a uninstall and reinstall and still it is still dead

My next is I will try removing it from the registry and reinstall and read up on corrupted security tables

Ok, I uninstalled, removed all trace of the install in the registry then reinstalled a new copy of the beta and still got a startup error... Not sure if it is different so I will repost the error...

Same problem here... I can't run Voice Attack on Windows 10 64bit

The only time that I see that type of error is when VoiceAttack is in trial mode and it is run under one Windows language, stopped and then run again in another language.  The only fix I have for that right now is to put the language back to what it was initially and run VoiceAttack.

Also add to the note... the user registration was ALSO erased on mine. I HARD removed the VA and reinstalled and recovered from my fairly recent backup... then re-entered the registration and it is now working.

Windows changed the Text-to-speech variable to a new date, depending on how long you have had Win10 it very likely confused the VA. That is my theory.

Well, you get the error... continue thru that.
When you get the VA and it's kinda all grey, click on the wrench Icon
Click on Registration big in the first screen that come up...
Enter in your email on line 1, enter in you registration key in line 2
It will check it and then click ok when done.

Now I had to change my keyboard Display Layout (found further down above the Joystick Option)

After that go to the top of that section and click on "Recognition and Audio"
"Speech Engine" at the top of that section, is a dropdown, select the appropriate Engine.

Click ok at the bottom of the whole panel and close the program completely. Then make sure it is being loaded on Admin Mode and restart it. After the popup caused by Admin Mode the error SHOULD be gone.

Tell me how it goes.
