PTT with a joystick button will not work at all

I can't get VA to listen only when I have a joystick button held down. In Hotkeys I enabled joystick global buttons and assigned the button, as well as selecting listen while pressed. But VA just ignores it in use, pressing/holding the button doesn't do anything, I have to click the listening button.

When I hover over the listening button it lists the correct joystick button.

Any ideas please? Thanks.

Is there a red icon over the gamepad icon on VoiceAttack's main window?

If you set up a command to trigger when that joystick button is pressed, does the command trigger when you press the button?

Are you using a literal joystick, or is it a gamepad device (E.G. an Xbox controller?)
