Voice training button grayed out

This has been a thing I have been dealing for a while now, and just got to the point where is annoying, the train profile button here is grayed out, and is not selectable.  It will do the initial voice training when a new profile is made, and then offers more, but once you close that screen, is no longer possible to do more training.

If you click the "Train your computer to understand you better" link in the control panel, or use the "Speech Engine Training" shortcut from the "Utilities >" button on the "Recognition" tab of the VoiceAttack options window, does that do anything?

I do also notice that the "Configure Microphone..." button is grayed out, and that you're using a virtual device as your recording device; have you tried switching to a different recording device (E.G. your microphone directly)?

The virtual device might be why.

Because of doing the streaming thing, with two computers, my mic goes to the Streaming PC, and then VoiceMeeter sends the mic audio to the Game PC over my network, where another copy of VoiceMeeter receives it via their VBan.

Am running two copies of VA, each with their own profile, where one PC controls music stuff, and the other controls game stuff.

It might be one of those I am SOL situations

I do get a dialog box to read out with the "train your computer to understand you better" option though
