Create your own TTS Voice

Has anyone had any success in creating there own Text to speech voice for use in windows? If so what did you use.  I have seen several sites that say they will let you record your own voice but it looks like you would have to pay to use your own voice or some require additional software to use.  I think it would be pretty cool if we could collectively create our own voices then post them here for people to use.

I made a TTS voice with this.

With approximately 1000 phrases (with only automatic phoneme detection) and an awful lot of CPU time, I got a usable result.

There is a reason good TTS voices are expensive, they take tons of time and effort.
