What should my expectations be for this scenario?
« on: July 04, 2018, 03:42:46 PM »
I have an app that outputs voice prompts to provide information.  Placing my microphone near the speaker, what are the chances I can get Voice Attack to recognize those prompts and activate the appropriate hotkey?  Obviously, I can train Speech to recognize my voice, but how well would it recognize another computer voice that I can't readily train?

Thanks!

As long as the audio of the voice is good, I don't see why you can't fool it into working.

You can also look at speech platform 11 engines that don't require training:  http://www.voiceattack.com/alternate
Would be worth a try.

I downloaded and installed the x64 speech platform 11, but it doesn't show up on my Windows 10 Pro.  Incompatible?  I still only have the default version 8.0 available, and Voice Attack still has the alternate speech platform options greyed out.

Have you installed both the runtime and a speech engine?

Try the 32-bit (x86) and see if that makes a difference: http://www.voiceattack.com/alternate
