FSX heading
« on: September 04, 2017, 12:44:09 AM »

Does anyone know if you can get VA to change the heading in FSX through the autopilot, eg "set heading to 179."

Thanks

In the past, I've referred to SPAD.neXt for this sort of thing, as it has a VoiceAttack plugin which can modify LVARs directly to set values like autopilot heading.

Sadly, they no longer offer a free version(only a 14 day trial).

Someone was apparently working on a more direct VoiceAttack plugin, but it seems there is no working example available.

I had the same question, but must confess that I don't really understand the technical parts of your answer.  For example what is a LVAR (some sort of variable?)  Once I get past that, I still don't know what I would configure in Voice Attack - I think just a call to the plugin - and what I would have to build in SPAD.neXT.

I see that they offer a FSX plugin but wonder if it's a shell or somewhat built out.  Also how understandable is the documentation in terms of answering my question above.  The price seems reasonable if it can pass speech variables.

All this is because Its Your Plane seems to have gone belly up and it looks like I'd have to re-invent the wheel.

All help appreciated.

There's some information about LVAR usage on the SPAD:neXt wiki, including how to find the ones you want to use.
