Each time I close window to shut down the Voice Attack app it restarts. I close the window again and it restarts. The only way to stop this is shut down computer.

Is this a new issue, or has this always happened on your machine?
Are you running any plugins? Are there any files in the Apps\Import subfolder of the installation directory?

This has not happened before today, when I installed the VAICOM PRO plugin for DCS.
The Apps\Import subfolder is empty.
Also, I have not run Voice Attack in at least a year before today. And I upgraded to the current version today.

Does this issue still occur when you disable plugin support (uncheck the "Enable Plugin Support" option on the "General" tab of the VoiceAttack options window, click "OK", "OK", and restart VoiceAttack)?

That fixed the issue.
However, my sole reason for voice attack is to use the plugin with DCS. Now I get the message "unable to invoke plugin. plugin support not enabled."
This issue is not reported with VAICOM so I will seek help from them.

I just installed VIACOM and I'm having the same issue with VoiceAttack not wanting to 'die' - it just keeps re-launching. I even attempted the steps of disabling the plugins and it still seemed to persist.
I'm wondering if you made any headway on the VAICOM side, before I dive down a rabbit hole of searches?

For contacting VAICOM PRO directly about this, their support page (https://www.vaicompro.com/support.html) lists a thread on the Eagle Dynamics forums (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=198297), and an email address.
If the issue does persist after you disable plugin support, click the wrench icon on VoiceAttack's main window, and on the "General" tab of the VoiceAttack options window click "System info >", then choose "Generate Settings Summary"; Save the file and attach it to a post here.

The solution to stopping VA from opening over and over again is to terminate the VAICOMPRO.exe process. This can be done by right-clicking on the VAICOM PRO system tray icon and clicking, 'Exit'. If VAICOMPRO.exe is in your Windows startup, you'll need to remove it from there, otherwise, it will continue to do what it was designed to do - restart VA when it closes.

And are you using the third-party VAICOM (PRO) addon?

Yes Vaicom and voice attack uninstalled and reinstalled. This has stopped the looping but daisy chaining to Vaicom not working properly need to start VA with Vaicom profile loaded and then change to primary profile.

Had the same problem here.
I was starting with a shortcut to the VAICOMPRO exe.
All fixed by changing start to the Voice Attack. exe. :)
