Title: how do I stop VA from duplicating profile with Lalt+P

exactly what it says, how do I stop VA from duplicating profile with Lalt+P, every time I use the command in game it duplicates my profile and I end up with loads of them its very annoying.

The only time that would happen is if VA has focus, just like hitting Alt+F4 would close VA.  Also, if you have VA in focus and you keep hitting Alt+P, it will only happen once as there is a dialog box confirming the duplication.  The only thing I can suggest is to make sure that VA does not have focus (minimize, minimize to tray), outside of modifying the game's binding to be something other than Alt+P.
