Well, I suppose I'll add my stick to the Helldivers 2 pyre (I bet this phrasing shows that I am not a native English speaker).
I built a profile based on another one that I made for Arma called Speakeasy.
It has some funky stuff going on but is focused on simplicity for adding new commands.
Since me and some friends seem to enjoy using it, maybe someone here might find it enjoyable as well. I'll happily take opinions on it.
There is a video for it here:

And it has a release folder on Google drive:

Have a good one!

Nice work, I notice it was built from my topic=4733]Helldivers2-PX-Profile.
-
Looks like you're really just pulled some spoken commands, categories and descriptions from my profile, everything else is such a rework. I'm still wrapping my head around everything, really wild work with this one!
-
Nice work, I notice it was built from my Helldivers2-PX-Profile (https://forum.voiceattack.com/smf/index.php?topic=4733).
I'm sorry but I think there is some confusion. It is actually based on my other profile - and a strategem list from Forbes that turned out to be faulty :)
I don't want you to think that I nicked your work and tried to pass it off as my own. Is there something in particular that you are reffering to?
-
Okay, I can absolutely see what you mean just by looking at your post.
I do not know what to tell you. I came back to this forum for the first time since forever to put my profile up for others to grab. And we had come to the same solution on how to put the stratagem codes together with executed commands at the beginning and end.
Categories, descriptions, phrases and such are literally word for word from taken from the game. That I am not surprised about at all if they are similar.
This makes my profile absolutely redundant though ;D

It is still useful - those using your profile will likely stick to it - We have the same issue with our products, and you know... :) - We have added a keybind reader now, so those that have key binds set for arrow keys wil be picked up, as well as all other binds they choose. Also, given your hard work, would you, and some of your users like our pack, I can send you a bunch to give out, free (we charge for the packs as it has audio and licensing attached, but there's no fee for them for 10 I hand off to you)... Anyway, it'll give you some ideas for your profile too I hope.

It was just brought to my attention that the method I was using for my version control is isolated to my VA client, so I was grossly incorrect in my previous statements. I obviously still have some things to learn in VA and apologize for my ignorance. Great work on your profile!

I have to ask .... why, in the video, do you suggest people run VA as Admin?
The only reason you'd want VA running as Admin is if the application it's to interact with is also running as Admin. If a game needs to be ran as Admin then I'd certainly be asking the developers why it needs elevated permissions in the first place.

I don't know the specific technical reason. It's been a standard suggestion with VA for as long as I remember. This is the best I got:

If you need any more info than that, I believe the question has been gone over a little now and then on the forum.
Though, I forgot that this was an option - which I have enabled on my end it seems:
VoiceAttack comes with a built-in option that will set it to run as administrator; It is highly recommended to use this option over any other method to run applications as administrator.

I've downloaded your profile and tried to use it in game but it disables my gamepad in game. The only way to get it back is to close VA and Helldivers then relaunch Helldivers. Is there something I can edit to regain control of my gamepad?
-
When does this issue occur? When you execute a command?
If you press a physical key on your keyboard while ingame, does your controller keep working?
VoiceAttack is only polling joystick devices for their states, it does not alter them or their availability.
-
It happens when I immediately load the profile into VA with Helldivers running.
The game switches between keyboard and gamepad without any issues without this profile running. When using other profiles, I have zero issues. So I know it's this specific profile causing the problem.
-
If you delete the "Control box PTT" command (in the "EXPERIMENTAL" category), does that make a difference?
-
Tried that yesterday, it made no difference.
-
I tried it with an Xbox controller just now and didn't see that issue.
Out of curiosity, what controller are you using? I have a few arduino controllers and saitek pedals set as joysticks in my installation of VoiceAttack, but can't see that it would be relevant.
-
If you unassign any and all controllers from their VoiceAttack joystick slots, does that make a difference?

They mentioned an "Xbox One Elite 2" controller in another topic.

Sadly this made no difference.
-
Alright...going a few steps further:
While VoiceAttack is not running, navigate to VoiceAttack's installation directory, and move the file "VAJS.dll" to a safe location (E.G. your desktop), then start VoiceAttack and check whether the issue still occurs.
-
Tested and that did fix the issue. I wonder why the joystick DLL was the problem child here. Thank you for that.
-
That is strange...without any joysticks assigned, VoiceAttack would at most request device information. Regardless, it's doing so using standard API calls, as just about any joystick-using application would.
If you extract and run this application (http://www.leobodnar.com/files/DIView.zip), does that have any effect on the game?
-
I don't have access to Leo Bodnar Electronics file server through your direct link. I get 403 forbidden.
-
Odd...does this link (http://www.leobodnar.com/products/BU0836/DIView.zip) work?
-
That link worked.
I opened Helldivers 2 and ran DIView.EXE after. It had zero effect on the game.
